The Teahouses Trail of Banff National Park is a route that guides users through some of Canada’s National Parks most treasured history. With the popularity and interest in outdoor adventures at the turn of the twentieth century, Canada strived to make the outdoor experiences unique - by adding these teahouses as places for respite and luxury when outside. Common in Europe with Swiss guides loving small chalets for breaks, the teahouse movement was quickly embraced by Canadian naturalists. On this hike, users will be taken to a few of the famous teahouses that straddle the Lake Louise area. This is a very popular area, and this route follow a pretty short but steadily uphill trail that starts out zig-zagging from the base of Lake Louise through some nice forest. Higher near the Mirror Lake and Lake Agnes areas, the trail opens up more with lovely viewpoints and place for users to spread out. Once departing and heading out to the Plain of Six Glaciers teahouse, the trail continues uphill and winds through even thicker forest, and then opens up to some incredible views of glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, and moraines. There are a few rock piles that may be on the trail here, since avalanches are very common. This trail is best used in summer, since winter hiking and teahouse hours are severely limited. Also, since this is a pack-in pack-out trail, users should expect to bring out all the waste with them.
